I think Facebook was simply being naive for using all the force it could use. Still it didn’t cause as much of the stir as it should have caused. What I fear is that in future Facebook will learn to use it force more subtly and we won’t even notice that it is manipulating something. We can end up pretty much like the people in the book 1984 who can sense that something is wrong, can’t recognize what.
